Colette Lewis is an artist working primarily with video, photography and installation through a social art model of practice. Her moving image practice explores embodied knowledge and place, incorporating video, photography, publication and installation, and using documentary and experimental approaches, and collaborative research processes in public and social contexts.

Lewis received an MA in Visual Art Practices from IADT Dublin (2010), Diploma Field Ecology, University College Cork (2002) and a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from the Limerick School of Art & Design (1995). She is a recipient of numerous funding awards for research and production from the Arts Council of Ireland, Cork City Council, and the Health Service Executive Arts & Health Programme.

Lewis is a founding member of The Guesthouse Project (2008) in Cork, programming and facilitating an experimental workspace for interdisciplinary artistic research, residencies, exhibitions and performance. She was co-curator of Electric Rain, Live Art, Music and Multimedia Event (2004-03) showcasing film and video and multidisciplinary work in live venue settings.

Her work has been shown both nationally and internationally in exhibitions and film festivals, including Chisenhale Dance Space, London; afon Festival, Abercych, Wales; Short Irish Film Showcase, Liverpool Irish Festival; IndieCork Film Festival, (Solo Exhibition); Milk Of Israel, Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, Co.
