Synopsis
'There was truth in what they said was shot in an abandoned open-outcry trading floor in Dublin, formerly the European headquarters of a New York exchange. To begin the viewer is presented with traces of the activity that once was. Over the duration of the video, every nuance of the idle floor is detailed and eventually the extent of disrepair the floor currently lies in is uncovered. While the steady drone of the vacant space becomes immersive, the aspirations of such an enterprise and their ultimate collapse are reflected in a sequence of considered tilts and pans.'
